GM is in the midst of an effort to boost their reputation for innovation and eco-friendly technology, and the heart of that effort is the Chevy Volt.  A plug-in hybrid, the Volt should be available for order from many local dealers by the second quarter of this year.  Originally, Chevy was only going to make the Volt available in the following states:

• California
• New York
• Connecticut
• New Jersey
• Texas
• Michigan

However, GM execs now say that the Volt should be available in all 50 states by the end of 2011.
